This, my hockey loving friends, is the Trade-Off, a yearly adventure we hope will turn out to be very popular for the few who meet with success in picking which players will be traded during the final two weeks before the trading deadline, which takes place around the second week of March each year.

For those in the know, the two weeks prior to the trading deadline in hockey are the busiest, and most fun to watch in terms of trades. All the teams are busy stocking up for the final run into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Deals abound in this time period, and we're here to make sure you can get in on the action.

Half the fun in this contest is the fact that the picks are made during January and the contest takes place in March. This makes it necessary for you to have some skill in making your picks. Just because someone is on the trading block in January doesn't mean they will be in March. Also, this eliminates the ability to pick the easy trades because the most likely to be traded players at the time of picking will most likely be traded by the time the pool starts in March.

While most people are focusing on the NCAA March Madness, they totally miss out on the mayhem involved in the NHL's busiest 2 weeks for making deals.

What better event to have a contest for? There's so many things to consider; who's being traded, where are they being traded to, when will the trade take place, etc. This all takes place in two weeks. And you can have in on the action!
